What a joy visiting this class for AdoptAClassroom.org! Their artwork was amazing. Teresa had the kids listen to classical music for 10 minutes and then asked them how the music inspired them. Some felt like dancing, another was scared, some felt like laughing, while others wanted to cry. It was a fantastic study in how the same music can inspire different feelings in everyone.
She teaches ELL (English Language Learning) students to read by putting their “sight words” to music. They spell the words out to songs that not only Teresa teaches them, but songs the kids create themselves.
They sang songs to us, danced for us, and even taught Ray to do the Letter Pop dance. Yes…video is coming!
